I was reading Lisa’s blog and discovered that St. Patrick’s Day was moved to Saturday to avoid conflict with Holy Week. (Love her comment about the green beer!) The last time the powers that be had to do that was in 1940. The next time will be in 2160.
Of course, in Dublin, celebrations are all week long!
We did our own celebration on Saturday (without knowing it was the true day) by reading our two St. Patty’s day books. I’ll probably send Jaylene to school with breakfast sandwiches shaped like shamrocks (using heart cookie cutters) and that’s about it. Oh, and Jayden and I are contributing to the world’s green by having snotty noses, but you don’t want to hear about that!
