My friend Li Li isn’t feeling very healthy right now so I thought I’d share some comfort food with her. In my family we usually eat Chicken Noodle soup when under the weather. I have fond memories of my grandma opening up a pack of Lipton’s and scooping up the warmth offered in each spoonful. In Taiwan chicken soup is a different story. I’ve taken on the job of organizing all our digital pictures (starting in 2003) and came across one that I snapped at a wedding dinner. Now I don’t even look twice when I see the chicken’s head floating in the broth. Enjoy Li Li and feel better soon!
{Edited to add} Now that I’ve looked more closely at the soup, I believe it’s a Vegetarian version, so it’s a fake chicken, probably made from soy products, made to look like the real thing.

I’m a vegetarian, and that’s scary. Just sayin’. *LOL*
It is a great photo, however… =)

Thanks a lot, Julie! 🙂 I’m still not too well, and I’m hoping there will not be a relapse. I’ve not seen a vegetarian chicken soup before so this picture looks pretty interesting to me. Do taiwanese observe the rule of not eating chicken if you have a cough??
