Although the recent typhoon meant delaying the kite festival for a week, and many of the foreign teams had to leave, the event was still spectacular.
This time, we decorated our own kites before we left.
Here’s Jaylene’s finished kite:

While they were very proud of their own kites, they still admired the colorful kites that surrounded us.

We really liked this penguin one.

But the favorite was the flying pirate ship.

If you could have any kite, which design would you choose?

The ship is lovely! But perhaps I’d go for something with a bit of humour – either a pig shape (yes, I know not very aerodynamic but I like the idea that “pigs can’t fly” teamed up with a kite”), or perhaps a flock of geese? I’ve had this kite bookmarked for ages:

The kites are all colorful; but I like the ones Jaylene and Jaden colored. They are extra special because they were colored by hand.

Those are great, what a neat festival! I like Jaylene and Jaden’s best but then I’d have to pick the pirate ship.

Jaylene looks so grown up!! Obviously I am not reading your blog often enough!! I love your kids’ kites! I’m glad you didn’t let a little thing like a typhoon stop you!! I agree with Heather; a dragon would be awesome!! Or a giant bullfrog to share with my friend Sara!!
