One of the traditions I enjoy the most back in Canada during the holidays is driving around and discovering all the lovely streets decked out in Holiday glitter and lights. We’d laugh at the outrageous ones and smile at the lovely homes with festive strings of lights dangling from rooftops and adorning windows. Our favorites of course were the cul de sacs that handed out candy canes and hot chocolate. This year, I heard about a street in Taiwan that supposedly goes all out with Christmas decorations. So Christmas day Ahji picked me and the kids up from school and we set out to see if it was true. Yes, indeed there was a street with lovely lights and displays… in a unique Taiwanese fashion.
We met up with some friends who showed us the way.
Nothing says Christmas like disco balls and Chinese lanterns.
It wasn’t a very long street, but it was cozy and pretty. I know that the area around Taipei 101 is flashier, but it’s such a long trip with kids who are still sick. Perhaps next year. We enjoyed this little street and a yummy spaghetti dinner with friends.
