Friday was Double Ten Day, which is Taiwan’s National Day. What better way to celebrate than having friends over for a get together? And what better way to feed them than to make them make their own food. Ha!
We’re very fond of having friends over for a DIY Dumpling party. We chopped up the fillings and provided (store-bought) wrappers and put our guests to work. The kids even took time out from their play and music merriment to make a few dumplings of their own.
And all three members of the under 2 crew managed to sneak a dumpling into their mouth before it was boiled. They agreed that they’re much more delicious after being cooked.
If you want to try your hand at making your own, there are detailed instructions with photos here. Why not throw a party while you’re at it?

Ooooo! We haven’t made these since pre-kids. The pre-made kind are way too expensive. I’ve gotta try this (esp. for our Chinese New Years party).
