Jaylene came home from school with some Spirelli string art shapes and we made them into cards.

Materials needed:
Light chipboard shapes (from cereal boxes etc) cut out with pinking shears (scisors that leave the triangle shape, if you don’t have any, just cut notches from the shape yourself)
string
card making goodies (we used deco tape mostly)
Tape one end of the string to the back side of the shape, and start winding. Try alternating and skipping to create different designs. When you’re done, tape the other end of the string to the back.
We glued some together so that both sides had the string designs on them, and put them in cards with “windows” (a shape cut out of the front). You could also do something like that and make a mobile.

Jaylene, great Spirelli designs. These are so much fun to make and you did a terrific job. I like the one with the face. Your cards are very pretty and a window card showing both sides is a wonderful idea. You are lucky to have a mommy that likes to make things with you.
Did you know I was afraid of dogs and now we have a huge dog. Her name is Whisper and she is like a big lovable bear. She really likes children and they can climb all over her and she just loves it. I think if you spend more time with animals, you will soon find that dogs can be your best friend. They make you feel good when you have a sad day and they greet you when you come home and let you know they missed you. Our dog smiles too.
I’ll send your mom a photo of our dog Whisper.
